Description

FLAKES AND CORES (00:001-002) FOUND AT 4 GRIMSDELL'S LANE, AMERSHAM, BY DR K P OAKLEY (RETAINED) AND MR E BRIDGSTOCK-CHOAT (IN BCM)(B1,B4).
THE TWO GROUPS FROM THE SAME SITE (B1,B3).
DATE OF FINDING EITHER GROUP UNKNOWN (PRE 1960?).




SU 970 988 A handful of Mesolithic flint flakes and "one or two" cores found at 2 Chestnut Close and 4 Grindsell's Lane, Amersham by Dr K P Oakley and retained by him.
No 2 Chestnut Close is at SU 9703 9887, No 4 Grindsell's Lane is at SU 9671 9873. Dr Oakley now lives in Oxford; no further information (B2 & B5).

Two cores and a `blade or flake, unretouched' noted in gazetteer (B6).
