SMALL AREA OF GARDEN OWNED BY HOUSE ON S OF MOAT LANE PRODUCED 4 SHERDS OF MEDIEVAL POTTERY. SHOWN ON OS MAP 1958 AS A POND - MATERIAL MAY HAVE BEEN DUMPED, AS INFILL? (B1). DESPITE NAME 'MOAT LANE', FEATURE TOO NARROW & SHORT TO BE A MOAT - WAS A DRAINAGE DITCH? NOW FILLED IN (B2). NGR TO GARDEN (B1).
