Description

Plan Form - L SHAPED
Grade II. House. Late C16-early C17, extended late C17-C18. E. wing is timber framed with brick infill, mostly herringbone, the left gable roughcast. Rear wing is of brick with first floor band course. Old tile roof, brick chimney in angle between wings. L-plan with outshot in rear angle. 2 storeys and attic. Earlier wing is of 2 bays with paired barred wooden casements in left bay and C19 external chimney to front of right bay. Right gable has C20 windows to each storey, one paired wooden casement in C17 frame to first floor and a blocked attic window with similar frame. Entries in right side of rear wing and in outshot. THE MILLSTONES MAY BE SEEN SET IN PAVING AT THE DOORWAY (B5).
