Description

ACCORDING TO MR HEALY OF PENNLANDS FARM 2 CHALK WELLS OPERATIONAL ON SITE (SEE MAP FILED). CHALK BURNT FOR LIME IN KILN ON SITE. NOT WORKED IN MR HEALY 'S MEMORY, BUT HIS AUNT, AS A YOUNG GIRL, WENT DOWN ONE. SHAFTS BELLED OUT. HIS GREAT UNCLE LAST HEALY TO WORK CHALK, THEN SOLD OUT TO PINERS (B11,B13).
