Description

FOUND BY MR P MILES ON PUBLIC FOOTPATH C.100M NW OF CHURCH. ABOUT 70 MED SHERDS, SOME SHELL TEMPERED, REMAINDER SANDY, OF C12-C14, INCLUDING A BRILL GLAZED HANDLE. ALL SHERDS FOUND IN AN APPROXIMATE 20M SQUARE CENTRED ON FOOTPATH (B1).
A SITE VISIT BY MICHAEL FARLEY NOTED MEDIEVAL POTTERY ALONG THE LENGTH OF THE FOOTPATH CROSSING THE FIELD WEST OF THE CHURCH. NO POTTERY WAS RETAINED BUT IMPRESSION THAT IT IS 12TH CENTURY IN PARTICULAR (B2).
