A subrectangular medieval moat is visible on historic aerial photographs as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field about 360 metres NW of Den farm and centred at SP64581 38838, a subrectangular ditch that varies between 3.5 and 5.5. metres wide, with the SE and SW facing sides being linear and the NW and NE facing sides curvilinear, encloses an earthwork platform about 31 metres SW-NE and 21.5 metres SE-NE. The moat does not appear on the 1814 Os Drawing or the OS 1st Edition map dated 1884. Visible on aerial photographs taken in 1944 and 1946 as earthworks, the moat features have been plough levelled by 1973, but do remain visible as a very faint earthwork on 2019 dated remote sensing data. The moat ditch is also visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs taken in 2019 (7-13).
