FINDS MADE WHEN TOPSOIL REMOVED PRIOR TO LAYING NAT.GAS PIPELINE.NGP 100:5 STRUCK FLAKES.101:1 CORE REJUVENATOR & 1 ?RB SHERD.102:4 STRUCK FLAKES;1 SI DE SCRAPER;1 ?RB SHERD;2 SHERDS ?DATE.104:1 SHERD ?RB/MED(BI1).DOUBLE PLATFORM FLINT CORE & FLAKE PI CKED UP JUNE 77,ADDED TO NGP 100(BI2).


"SP 68111318-SP 68461332. Found prior to laying of gas main in Feb 76. Finds include nine struck flakes, one rejuvenator core, three ? RB sherds, one side scraper and three undated sherds. Finds now at BCM". Classified Mesolithic/Neolithic (B4).

At SP 68451331 a late Iron Age cremation burial was found and excavated. The contents of the grave included a decorated bronze mirror, parts of three amphorae, 2 double-handled jugs, a cordonned cup or bowl, fragmentary woodwork and an iron band. (B5 and B6).
