(Centred SP 671245) Earthworks of village shrinkage, visible on air photographs. (Not listed by Beresford or Deserted Medieval Village Research Group). (B3 and B4).

The earthworks are situated at the head of a small valley, on clay. They cover an area of 13 ha, 550m N-S by 400m E-W, in pasture fields either side of the village street, and are bounded by ridge and furrow.
In the W fields two hollow ways, about 10.0m wide and up to 1.5m deep lead into a series of small, rectangular, banked enclosures, probably former paddocks. A level rectangular platform, 38.0m x 21.0m is prominent at SP 67132455 and two smaller ones lie to the south, all evidence of shrinkage. To the north there are amorphous channels and hollows, some circular and up to 2.0m deep, which are probably natural.
The E field is traversed by a narrow winding gulley, possibly former stream bed; the S half has recently been piped. Bordering it are amorphous hollows, some crescentic, and possible building terraces, but the general appearance is of erosion by surface water. In the N the ground is divided by shallow rectilinear ditches, evidently representing the extreme E edge of paddocks.
Surveyed at 1:2500 (B5).
