Description

A good spring at Botolph Claydon, it is reached by steps at its west end. The name Botyl is commonly corrupted in St Botolph's Well (B1 and B2).
WELL NOW HAS A CONCRETE FRAME, SEALED WITH A CONCRETE COVER (B5).
MARKED AT NGR (B4).

Botyl Well: name verified, but also known locally as St Botyl Well. The well is no longer in use, the well-head having been covered. See ground photograph. Published survey (25") correct (B7).
