HILT & HALF OF BLADE OF SWORD, FOUND 25MM BELOW SURFACE BY F W HUGHES. SLOTTED HANDLE, 4 RIVET HOLES IN HILT PLATE, 2 RIVETS IN INNER HOLE. BADLY CORRODED & BENT. SLOT IN HANDLE, NO TRACE OF A RICASSO. V SHOULDERS, TRACE OF HANDLE. EXACT LOCATION UNSURE. STUDIED BY BM. DRAWN &C (B1,B3).
