Description

EXTENSIVE REMAINS OF BUILDINGS DUG UP IN CUTTING MADE TO ALLOW TINGEWICK RD TO GO UNDER A GIRDER BRIDGE AT WATER STRATFORD FOR THE RAILWAY. EYE-WITNESS DESCRIPTIONS SUGGEST THEY WERE ROMAN, AS WERE EARTHEN VESSELS & STONE QUERNS FOUND IN THE BUILDINGS (B1-2) . NGR TO RLY BRIDGE OVER TINGEWICK RD (B3).
