C13 OR LATE C12 TYPE, CHARACTERISED BY A 'BRAZIL-NUT' POMMEL. SWORD POINT MISSING BUT SWORD IN REMARKABLY GOOD CONDITION. ILLUS. FOUND BY A PLOUGHMAN 58YDS NNE OF ANGLE FORMED BY 2 HEDGES IN SW CORNER OF LEE GREEN FIELD (B1). IN POSSESSION OF FAMILY OF LANDOWNER (B2). PHOTO WITH SCALE, FILED (B3).
