Plan Form - RECTILINEAR
FIELD SYSTEM VISIBLE AS CROPARKS ON AP11-12, 16-17 & 25. NOT AS EXTENSIVE AS SYSTEM TO NW (01:000). INCLUDES D-SHAPED ENCLOSURE (02:100), A 2ND ENCLOSURE (02: 200), ?PITS (02:300) & TRACKWAYS (02:400). OTHER BROAD MARKS ARE PROBABLY GEOLOGICAL. DATE: PRESUMABLY IRON AGE/ROMAN, BUT COULD BE EARLIER. 1:2,500 PLOT (B4-6).
A possible Prehistoric or Roman field system, consisting of conjoined rectilinear ditched enclosures and trackways, visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. The system extends over an area measuring 400m by 400m. Most of the enclosures are incomplete but the average size appears to be 80m by 100m. Two possible trackways, defined by parallel ditches, are situated to the north and south and extend for 60m and 65m. Cropmarks sketch plotted at 1:10,000 (B8).
