Description

POTTERY COLLECTED FROM AREA SW OF MANOR FARM & SE CORNER OF A SMALL ENCLOSURE (AT NGR) C.1965, 1975, & 1976. MASS OF POTSHERDS, INCLUDING WASTERS, FOUND, INDICATING FORMER PRESENCE OF KILN. POSSIBLE CL AY PITS ON S SIDE OF FARM. NOTE; REFERENCES TO 'POTTERIS PLACE' IN BOARSTALL 1408, 1410, ETC (B1).

SP 62641459. Medieval pottery scatter incorporating the remains of seventeen jugs of Brill type were excavated in 1976 (by Bucks Co Museum) (B5).

No kiln has been found though it is considered that there is at least one in the vicinity of the finds. The pottery is tentatively dated to the 14th and 15th centuries and most is now in the Co.Museum (B6).
