Dimensions - Thickness 31mm, Length 114mm, Width 73mm.
Plan Form - Pear shaped.
MID ACHEULIAN HANDAXE, OVATE ON THICK FLAKE (B1).
FOUND BY W FILBY (B2).
DRAWN (B4).
AXE HAS AN IRREGULAR PYRIFORM SHAPE, ROUGHLY OVATE & HAS LOST SOME OUTLINE. BUTT OF ROUGH CORTEX. GOOD SOFT HAMMER FLAKING. MUCH WEATHERED & EXFOLIATED BUT NOT WATER ROLLED, WITH LATER DAMAGE. SOME IRON STAINING (B5).
