Dimensions - Length 120m, Width 90m.
Moat, occupying whole field, 3 internal depressions, probably fishponds; slight trace of internal bank. Site not previously known but can be seen on a St Joseph AP. S side partly infilled (B1).
Scheduled: SAM No.32119. Detailed description (B4).

A medieval moat is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located in a field about 295 metres E of Pasture Farmhouse and centred at SP 77359 11064, a slightly trapezoidal ditch ranges in width from 3 to 11 metres. the moat ditch encloses an internal area about 105 metres SW-NE and 92 metres NW-SE at its widest points. An earthwork bank flanks the inside of the moat ditch on three sides, though is not visible on the Se facing side. The internal area is subdivided by linear ditches , forming a number of variously sized rectilinear enclosures. Two of the enclosures contain subrectangular earthwork platforms: in the NW corner about 29 x 27 metres and in the SE corner about 37 x 23 metres at their widest points. Across the internal area are at least ten subrectangular and rectangular hollows or ponds of various sizes, of uncertain function (5-6).
