Description

2 SOCKETED SPEARHEADS & A SOCKETED AXE 'FROM AKELEY'; THESE FORM PART OF CAMBRIDGE MUSEUM'S BRAYBROOKE COLLECTION. THEY WERE ACQUIRED BY BRAYBROOKE AT THE STOWE SALE, 17 MARCH 1849 (B1). POSSIBILITY OF THESE 3 OBJECTS BEING PART OF A HOARD SHOULD BE TREATED WITH RESERVE (B3).


A bronze axe-head from Akeley (SP 7137) was exhibited at Chichester in July 1853; part of the Hon Richard Neville's collection (B4).
Two Bronze Age spearheads from Akeley are now held by the University Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, Cambridge (B6).
