JUG: DATEABLE TO AFTER THE DISSOLUTION OF THE MONASTERIES; IT HAS EFFECTIVE GRAPE-VINE DECORATION IN HIGH RELIEF, WHITE ON RED. SLIPWARE, RED-BROWN SANDY, BROWN-GREEN GLAZE. NO LIP, GROOVED STRAP TRIPLE THUMBED AT BOTTOM (ILLUS)(B1).
FOUND IN CHALK BED C.1.5M BELOW SURFACE AT WITTINGTON (B2).
