YARD/TERRACE (01:000) WAS OCCUPIED BY A FLINT BUILDING OF WHICH ONLY THE LOWER COURSES WERE PRESERVED. ROOF WAS OF PEG TILE. TO THE W, OVERLYING THE FLINT WALLS A 100MM THICK LAYER OF CHARCOAL & ASH UNCOVERED: CHARCOAL BURNING? ALSO A FLINT-LINED TRENCH: RESERVOIR? (B2,B8).
