Summary

Bronze Age round barrow indicated by a ring ditch cropmark seen on air photographs. Field investigation in 1974 found no surface indications.

Description

Dimensions - Radius 9m.
Plan Form - Circular.
A ring ditch, about 17.0m diameter, at SU 83778490. There is no trace on the ground, it is under barley on a low swelling marginally above the Thames flood plain. No finds were made, and no associated earthworks are visible on the ground or the AP. Plotted from St Joseph AP (B1,B4).

Possible associated linear features. Cropmarks plotted at 1:2500 (NMR method (B3).

The ring ditch referred to by the previous sources is a Bronze Age round barrow, visible as cropmarks, and has been mapped from aerial photographs. It is defined by a ring ditch with a diameter of 20m and is centred at SU 8381 8489. (Morph No. TG.505.1.1) (B5).
