5 SOIL MARK CIRCLES VISIBLE ON AERIAL PHOTO (BI1). NO GROUND TRACE IN RECREATION GROUND (?FANCY'S OLD CRICKET GROUND, BY RIVER COLNE). EVIDENCE OF WASTE TIPPING PRIOR TO LAYOUT.(BI2). NMR HAVE NO AP'S OF SITE (BI3). AFTER CHECKING AP, CCS BELIEVES SOIL MARKS NOT TO BE ARCHAEOLOGICAL (BI4)
Five circular soil marks have been revealed on aerial photographs. These are located in fancy's Old Cricket Ground by the river Colne. There are no significant surface features to substantiate these soil marks; they could be due to natural features. This site is threatened by gravel extraction (B5).

The location is a recreation ground, with no significant surface features visible. Inspection of earth removed in constructing golf bunkers, suggests there had been considerable waste tipping in this area prior to the layout of the ground (B6).
