Description
Plan Form - RECTILINEAR
IRREGULAR LINEAR MARKS VISIBLE AS CROPMARKS ON AP. MAYBE FRAGMENTARY PARTS OF ENCLOSURES OR FIELD SYSTEM. SITE PARTLY DESTROYED TO SOUTH BY M4, WITHOUT INVESTIGATION, IN 1970 (B2-5).
CROPMARKS PLOTTED AT 1:2500 (B3-4).
Cropmark remains of a large rectangular ditched enclosure with internal pits and hints of further ditch elements to the south. This is probably of Iron Age or Roman in date and is visible on aerial photographs. It is aligned on and lies adjacent to a straight double-ditched trackway (Monument number: 1233869)[CAS 0211405000] which extends NE-SW across the field (19).
