Description

POTTERY &TILE, FROM 600M E OF BRIDGE, ON A422 ROAD. 1 CC FOOTRING; 11 OTHER SHERDS, SOME PROBABLY RB ; 2 PIECES OF FLUE TILE; FRAGMENTS OF ?RB TILE. DU MPED MATERIAL, IN AREA OF INFILLED GRAVEL PITS?(BI 1). BUT, NO EVIDENCE OF DUMPING IN THIS AREA; QUAR RY AT SP73593627, NO RB MATERIAL THERE (BI2)



SP 73633627. Two pieces of Romano-British flue tile, some fragments of other tile and about eleven sherds, some Roman, were found by K J Woolley, Buckingham in June 1974. Possibly dumped material in an area of infilled gravel workings. Acc No 315:74 (B3).
There is evidence of dumping in this area, and a quarry pit is shown on the OS 6" at SP 73593627. No Roman material was found (B4).
