Summary

Mesolithic and Neolithic flint axes found circa 1972, west of Hadden's Plantation. A chipped Neolithic flint axe was found within 100 yards. Both axes were found on the surface and retained by the finder (drawings are in Bucks County Museum, Aylesbury). The findspot of the tranchet axe was verified on the Ordnance Survey 6" by Mrs Nickalls.

Description

2 FLINT AXES FOUND BY MRS B NICKALLS, ON SURFACE OF A PLOUGHED FIELD WITHIN 100M OF EACH OTHER (SEE 01:000; 02:000) (B1-2).



SP 95600609 A tranchet axe was found c 1972 by Mrs B Nickalls, west of Hadden's Plantation. A chipped Ne flint axe was found within 100 yds. Both axes were found on the surface and are retained by the finder (Drawings in Bucks County Museum) (B3).
The find-spot of the tranchet axe was verified on OS 6" by Mrs B Nickalls. Implements retained by finder (B4).
