SHARP, POINTED HAND AXE OF ACHEULEAN TYPE FROM NEAR SEER GREEN, FOUND C.15CM BELOW TURF UNDER GRAVEL BALLAST, BY MR A DAY (B1).
LOCATION GIVEN HERE AS 'LAVENDON', CHILTERN HILLS ROAD, DURING HOUSE CONSTRUCTION. TIP BROKEN (B2). 'LAVENDON' NOT LOCATED, NGR TO CENTRE OF ROAD (B3).

A Pa handaxe purchased by the British Museum (Acc No 1927 10 10 1) is variously sited to Chiltern Hills Rd, Beaconsfield (b12) (SU 932907) and to "Lavendon" near Seer Green (SU 9691) (b5 and 6). Found in gravel during excavations for the foundations of a house (B7).

The first-hand information of the BM accession register is more likely to be correct, but there is no house named Lavendon nor a Chiltern Hills Rd at Seer Green. No further information (B8).
