Description

ROMANO-BRITISH POTTERY FOUND IN PLOUGHED FIELD 650M E OF OAKLEY CHURCH. 2 MORTARIUM RIMS, 3 SHERDS; 11 OTHER RIMS; 3 SHERDS NENE VALLEY COLOUR COAT; 2 HANDLES; 25 SHERDS. (ALSO FOUND; 1 ROMANO-BRITISH COMBED TILE & 1 PROBABLE RB TILE FRAGMENT (B1).


SP 6495 1229. Two pieces of Roman tile (one, a flue tile fragment) and about 46 Roman sherds, including Nene Valley ware were found scattered on ploughed field by E J Bull in May 1974. Bucks Co Museum Acc No 271:74. B3, B4, and B5).
