Description

A REFERENCE TO A CHALK MINE AT CHALFONT ROAD (B9), DUG BEFORE 1901 AND OWNED BY HENRY SMITH OF AMERSHAM COMMON. THIS H SMITH WAS THE LAST OWNER OF THE BRICKWORKS (B1,B6) AND ON THIS BASIS THE DENEHOLE IS LOCATED TO THE SAME SITE AS THE WORKS (B1).
