FORD, REVEALED DURING EXCAVATION OF FEATURE 1. APPEARED TO CONSIST OF OAK STAKES, WHICH SUPPORTED THE LIMESTONE BLOCKS OF THE ROAD WHERE IT CROSSED THE WET CLAY OF THE RIVER BANK/BED. A SIMILAR PAVED FORD WAS FOUND AT KEMPSTONE, BEDS. DESCRIPTION & PHOTOS (B5, PP10,11,24-25). NGR TO SITE CENTRE.
