Description

IN INNERMOST PART OF CASTLE WERE BUILDINGS OF STRENGTH, MANY FOUNDATIONS BEING FOUND. IN 1743 WAS DUG UP AN ENTIRE STONE WINDOW FRAME LIKE THOSE IN ANCIENT CHURCHES (B1).
MR R WATTS RECALLS SEEING FOUNDATIONS WITHIN EARTHWORKS IN 1950S (B13).
TILE HEARTH SEEN IN TREE ROOT, INSIDE S BANK (PHOTO)(B19).
