Description

LARGE RED EARTHENWARE JAR, LIKE AN AMPHORA BUT NOT POINTED AT BOTTOM, FOUND AT CONSIDERABLE DEPTH, DURING EXCAVATIONS AT THE OLD RECTORY, HITCHAM. WORKMEN REMOVED IT, THEN BROUGHT IT TO HOUSE. BONES SAID TO HAVE BEEN FOUND AROUND IT (B1-2).
THE OLD RECTORY IS HITCHAMBURY (B3).
