FOUND BY MR.AND MRS TREACHER BETWEEN 1921 AND 1931.OLD PIT MARKED ON OS MAPS ON WEST SIDE OF GREEN L ANE,OPPOSITE THE GOLF COURSE.THIS IS PROBABLE SOUR CE OF THE FINDS(BI1)DESCRIBED AND SKETCHED(BI2)

(SU 935828) Six Palaeolithic handaxes from Green Lane, Burnham are in Oxford University Museum (B5).
An old pit at c SU 935836 marked on the OS maps on the W side of Green Lane may have been where 6 handaxes were found at varying dates from 1921-31. (Treacher Colln Oxford Univ Mus) (B1).
