DURING CONSTRUCTION WORK AT BARN MEADOW RECREATION GROUND SOME YEARS BEFORE 1974, ROMAN COINS FOUND AND SHOWN TO MR L E PIKE. REPORTED TO M FARLEY 1974. NUMBER, DATE, AND PRESENT LOCATION UNKNOWN (B1).

Mr L E Pike, Chesham Bois, reports that some years ago Ro coins were found during the construction of a club-house and recreation ground at SU 9568 9743 (approx) and showed to him. (Mr Pike's identification of coins as Roman is probably correct as he has a number from another site.) The present location of the coins is not known (B1).

According to Mr L E Pike the coins were found in the construction of the "61 Club" at SU 9561 9754 and that they were classified as Roman by the Ashmolean Museum. No further information regarding number and present location (B3 and B4).

NRHE Update 1997 (B5).
