Description

On road towards Chenies at extremity of town (B1).
Gift of Thomas Weedon deceased Sept 1624 (B2).
Erected in James I's reign by Thomas son of Richard Wedon of Pednor (B3).
Comprises 3 tenements for aged women. Oblong plan. Single storey addition to rear SE side. OS no. SP 90 SE 8 (B4).
Grade II. Founded 1624 by the bequest of Thomas Wedon of Pednor. Late C19 rebuilding of earlier structure. Flint rubble, red brick quoins and 4 gables with barge- boards. Tiled roof, 2 chimneystacks each with 4 joined diagonally set shafts. 1 storey and attics, 4 diamond lattice casements, ground floor cambered arches. Gabled hoods to doors and central well pump with wooden casing. Graded partly for historical interest. VCH, III, 204 (B5).
