AT DOMESDAY HITCHAM HAD A FISHERY OF 500 EELS (B2,B11).
TO NE OF REMAINS OF MANOR HOUSE, CENTRED AT NGR ARE 2 LARGE & 2 SMALL FISHPONDS, ALMOST CERTAINLY ATTATCHED TO & CONTEMPORARY WITH THE DEMESNE SITE (B7).
