BEACON HILL: AN OLD IRON FRAME KEPT IN IVINGHOE CHURCH IS SAID TO HAVE BEEN USED FOR LIGHTING BEACON (B1).
IN AN ACCOUNT OF PARISH, C.1712-20, A BEACON STOOD HERE. THE KETTLE & OTHER MATERIALS BELONGING TO IT WERE THEN STILL IN THE CHURCH. [REF TO BM ADD MS 5840 P130] (B2).
