BEACON HILL: AN OLD IRON FRAME KEPT IN IVINGHOE CHURCH IS SAID TO HAVE BEEN USED FOR LIGHTING BEACON(B1). IN AN ACCOUNT OF PARISH, C.1712-20, A BEACON STOOD HERE.THE KETTLE & OTHER MATERIALS BELONGING TO IT WERE THEN STILL IN THE CHURCH(B2). NGR TO 'BEACON HILL'(B3).
