Description

Dimensions - Length 90m.
Plan Form - Linear.
2 hollow ways (00:000) & to W 2 dykes(?), upper of which has a downslope bank. Show clearly on AP (B1).
Both dykes have banks on downslope side. Surveyed and plotted at 1:2500 during field visit in January 1997 (B6).
Profile across earthwork recorded by Network Archaeology in February 1999 (B5).

Earthworks of two linear banks and ditch [preiously] thought to be part of Grim's Ditch, an Iron Age linear earthwork or two possible Iron Age cross dyke on Ivinghoe Hills visible at SP 9600 1617 on the end of a north-facing section on ridge. These can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 2009 as part of the Historic England Aerial Reconnaissance programme (7).
