C2 & C3 SHERDS, ROOF & FLOOR TILE (ALSO QUERN FRAGMENTS & BUILDING STONE) FROM RECTANGULAR AREA, IN PLOUGH SOIL, 0.8HA IN EXTENT. TOPSOIL VERY BLACK; WHEN VISITED 1973 WAS LITTERED WITH BUILDING STONE & TILE BROUGHT UP BY DEEP PLOUGH. SITE NEAR SMALL COPSE ON RIDGE NEAR BRIDLEPATH TO NEWTON LONGVILLE (B1).


SP 833297. Romano-British sherds, tile and part of a quern found on surface of ploughed field by R W Griffiths (B3).
No significant features or finds in a field of crop (B4).
Possibly related to the villas site at SP 8326 3038 (HOB UID 344806) excavated in 1973 by R W Griffiths and J Southernwood (B5).
