Summary
A bell barrow, excavations carried out in 1941, on its north west quadrant, located a pit containing Medieval pottery and a charcoal spread which has been interpreted as the remains of a Bronze Age cremation.

Description
SP 670419 Bell-barrow 90ft in diameter, maximum height about 4 ft with ditch 15ft wide and 18 ins deep. Excavations of the NW quadrant in 1941 (see plan) revealed a disturbed central area consisting of an irregular lobed pit containing scraps of Md pottery. The filling of the disturbed area was mixed clay containing much finely broken charcoal which may have been derived from a Middle-Late BA cremation (1).
