Summary

Probable C17th, four bay barn of timber frame and weatherboard above a brick and flint wall. The timbers are substantial, the trusses of queen strut and collar construction with clasped purlins and principal rafters. The small door opposite the porch points to a building date prior to the mid C18th when the large four wheel wagon came into use, which made large double doors a necessity.

Description

Probable C17th, four bay barn of timber frame and weatherboard above a brick and flint wall. The timbers are substantial, the trusses of queen strut and collar construction with clasped purlins and principal rafters. The small door opposite the porch points to a building date prior to the mid C18th when the large four wheel wagon came into use, which made large double doors a necessity (B1).
