Description

'In the cellar of a house on the west side of High Street is a semi-circular arch with a groined head, constructued of solid stone work: within it are inscriptions which cannot be deciphered. Nothing is known of this singular recess. It resembles what is known as a founder's tomb in a church.' (B1).
