Description

BUILDING FOUNDATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH MEDIEVAL POTTERY FOUND WHILE MAKING NEW HOCKEY PITCH. IN AREA THOUGHT TO CONTAIN REMAINS OF MEDIEVAL VILLAGE OF THORNTON. RESCUE EXCAVATION SHOWED BUILDING WAS PROBABLY PART OF C13/14 KITCHEN (& THEREFORE PART OF A BUILDING COMPLEX?). EXCAV REPORT, &C (B2).
