Description
The base of a Roman triple vase obtained on the site of a Roman camp at Waddesdon, Bucks (Name SP 7417) noticed in a private collection and to be placed in Hull Museum. It is a hollow grey earthenware ring, and on the upper surface there are four projections, each of which is perforated, three of them being bases on which once were vases. (There is no evidence of a Roman camp in Waddesdon, and the available RAF A/P's show no trace) (B1).
No local knowledge of the vase or of a Roman camp at Waddesdon. The only Romano-British settlement in the vicinity is at Fleet Marston about 3 miles to the east (SP 71 NE 2) (2).
NRHE insert 1998 (B3).
