An earthwork bank of uncertain date and function is visible on aerial photographs in the east of Stoke Hammond, centred at SP 8861 2892. It cuts NE-SW across a field beneath medieval-post medieval ridge and furrow in a straight line for approximately 160m, before bending slightly to the east by c.5m and then continuing on its original orientation for a further 40m (1).
This record includes National Record of the Historic Environment Information provided by Historic England on 4 June 2025 licensed under the Open Government Licence (2).
Earthwork not visible on 2022 Environment Agency LiDAR data, however a large bank is visible apparently underlying ridge and furrow on a similar orientation in the field to the north centred at SP8862729162 and was mapped as part of the North Bucks and Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation projects.
