Description

A "decayed Hamlet, called Boicot" which had a 13th cent chapel dedicated to St John the Baptist is mentioned by Browne Willis who said that part fell within the "gardens" of Stowe House. Sheahan in 1862 said that the hamlet consisted of a farmhouse and three cottages, a view confirmed by the original 1" (1820-30) which sites the name "Boycot" at SP 665361 where the present Boycott Farm now stands. No AP cover available (B1-B2).

No evidence of desertion could be found at the quoted NGR. The present Boycott Farm is modern, without interest (B3).
