Description
The cropmarks of a probable Iron Age or Roman settlement visible as a large rectilinear sub-divided rectilinear enclosure with traces of further external annexe enclosures seen on aerial photographs. There are a number of ring ditches visible around the enclosure two of which are probably round barrows and are recorded separately [CAS 15774 & 15775]. A smaller ring ditch within a smaller adjacent rectangular enclosure to the north of the main site may be the remains of a hut circle (1).
This record includes National Record of the Historic Environment Information provided by Historic England on 4 June 2025 licensed under the Open Government Licence (2).
Cropmarks not visible in 1999-2023 vertical aerial photographs.
