Summary

The cropmark of a small ring ditch is visible on Englsh Heritage Reconnaissance photographs taken on 31st July 2009. It is located on the south side of a track leading westwards out of Hillesden, and could be a possible Bronze Age round barrow. It defined by a single ditch approximately 30m wide. Its eastern edge may be damaged by later medieval ridge and furrow ploughing into the ditch fill.

Description

The cropmark of a small ring ditch is visible on English Heritage Reconnaissance photographs taken on 31st July 2009. It is located at SP 6759 2889 on the south side of a track leading westwards out of Hillesden, and could be a possible Bronze Age round barrow. It defined by a single ditch approximately 30m wide. Its eastern edge may be damaged by later medieval ridge and furrow ploughing into the ditch fill (1).
