Description
An anthropoid dagger (Hawkes and Clarke B.2 variant), found with, but not in, a bronze scabbard (Piggott's Group 1) in the R. Thames, by the ferry at the foot of Clifden (Clivedin) Wood in 1858. Now in the British Museum, dated 2nd/3rd cent. B.C (B1-2).
The ferry at the foot of Cliveden Wood will be My Lady Ferry, at SU 9082 8486 (B3).
