Description
A double bank and surrounding ditches of uncertain date and function is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located on the west facing slope of Conduit Hill and centred at SP 74538 21804, two linear banks with parallel sides are about 32 x 4.5 metres wide and 19 x 3.5 metres wides, with long sides aligned NW-SE. Each bank has a ditch flanking the SW facing side up to 5 metres wide. It is possible that these earthworks represent some kind of extraction site, but this is speculative (1-3).
