Description

A bank and surrounding ditch of uncertain date and function is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located on the west facing slope of Conduit Hill and centred at SP 74576 21728, a linear bank with parallel sides and rounded ends is aligned 46 metres SW-NE and 7.5 metres wide. A boundary ditch between 2 metres and 5.5 metres wide flanks both sides. It is possible that these earthworks represent some kind of extraction site, but this is speculative (1-3).
