Description

Boundaries and trackways of medieval/post medieval date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located north and west of Church Farm, Nether Winchendon, and centred at SP 73077 12209. Earthworks of possible boundaries of small parcels of and drainage ditches were visible as earthworks west and north of Church Farm. Modern land use is mainly arable and most of the earthworks have been levelled but some remain in gardens. Finds including Roman, Saxon and medieval pottery and metalwork have been recorded on the field and it is a clear area within ridge and furrow earthworks mapped as part of this project. (1-5)
